Over here at Crowned Sparrow Craft Co, we are about love. And kindness. We are excited to spend a week in August supporting our friends in the LGBTQ+ community and to celebrate love in all it’s forms!
In the spirit of PRIDE, we are dedicating our 3 classes during Charlotte’s PRIDE week to making beautiful, sparkly, colorful things that you can wear or display to show your solidarity. We are also proud to be donating 20% of all tickets sales for these 3 classes to 3 charities that support the LGBTQ+ community. The work they do is important and ongoing.
Crafty Hour at Petra's on Tuesday, Aug 13, features Drag Queen Trivia while you create your own Pretty PRIDE Earrings! Join Wednesday, Aug 14th's, embroidery craftXcraft at Wooden Robot Brewery and deck your outfit in stitches, or go out Friday night, Aug 16, to Catalyst for our PRIDE Pennants class and wave some love around.
Learn more about these charities and then join us for an evening (or two!) of crafting for love.
Time Out Youth - Time Out Youth Center is a place where you can experience a sense of belonging and community. Whether you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, a straight ally – or just don’t want to be labeled, you will be welcomed here. Some of our youth are out, some are partially out, and some are not out at all. Time Out Youth Center offers a safe space for all and fully respects the journey of each individual. While at Time Out Youth, you are not expected to be anyone or anything except who you are.
PFLAG Charlotte - For thirty years, PFLAG Charlotte has proudly served our local community. We offer peer support services for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ. We provide educational resources to LGBTQ individuals and their loved ones. We advocate for the rights and well being of the LGBTQ community through a wide range of education and awareness programs.
Human Rights Campaign - The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 3 million members and supporters nationwide. As the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are ensured of their basic equal rights, and can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.
